We are lucky that we have parents who will give up their lives to help when we need them. Isabella is lucky that she got to stay in her home with her grandparents until she was almost SIX months old.

We are lucky that both of our girls made it into the world safe and sound so that we could march with them in the March for Babies. Too many teams were marching in memory of their babies.

We are lucky that we have fabulous friends and family who sponsored our walk so that both Ivy and I raised enough to earn our matching t-shirts!

We are lucky to have two amazing little girls whose love for each other is apparent in every little good sisterly deed and every light-up-the-world smile shared between them, and we are lucky to share them with a remarkable aunt on this Mothers' Day.

I am lucky to have a precious little family who made my weekend so special. This year I received Isabella's "Someday" ring. Ivy gave me a ring on my first Mothers' Day and, so touched, I told Alex that I would wear it until her own first Mothers' Day when I would give it to her. Now that there is another "someday mother" in our family, another ring was needed and Alex obliged. Traditions and keepsakes are something that have been precious and few in my life, so having these of our own making is incredibly special.

Ivy was lucky that the "Dinner Boat" she has been wanting to ride had a lunch cruise for Mothers' Day, and her papa wanted to take us.
