Conversation

Somewhere along the way, Ivy went from making random statements and responding to direct questions to actually having conversations. Yesterday we celebrated our fifth day with no potty accidents with a trip for ice cream with 'Drina. As we settled in, this was the conversation that ensued... I hope it makes you laugh as much as I have over the last two days!

Brooke: So, Ivy, how was your day at school?

Ivy: ignoring for a while then, Fine.

Brooke: What did you do today?

Ivy: I made art. (properly pronounced arrrrrrrrrrrrt)

Brooke: What did you do in art?

Ivy: I color. Sarah ate bluuuuuue crayons!

Brooke and I: Did you say she ate crayons?

Ivy: Uh-huh.

Me: You didn't eat crayons did you?
Brooke: Did you eat crayons?

Ivy: Nooooo.

Brooke and I: You are a big girl! You know not to eat crayons.

Ivy: I eat glue sticks!

Neighborly Love

And a little love for the momma, too... We've had a lot of fun with our across-the-street neighbor, Miss Samantha in the past couple of weeks. We have really enjoyed the summer sunshine that has finally graced us with its presence, and Ivy seems to have dropped about a half-hours worth of sleep so we've been spending lots of time outside playing a little later and having a ball! Here is an afternoon in the sprinkler. Ivy didn't really know what to think at first, which is funny because last year she LOVED it! I guess she just didn't remember! Samantha quickly showed her the serious business of collecting water, and the fun to be had, too!

Then on a rainy Sunday afternoon I was trying to think of a low-stress way to occupy our time. We decided on a trip to the playplace at the mall, and then a little ice cream treat and carousel ride. Inspiration hit me when I thought of inviting Miss Samantha! It was the first time we ever had two girls in our car! Definitely photo worthy!

We rode the escalator as part of the fun!

Up and down on the horsey...

One going up, the other going down... and yet somehow they crashed into each other at the bottom!

And for the latest news on the new addition, we had our 16 week doctor's appointment last Friday. We finally had an appointment with no drama (but they took blood for the quad screen, so let's pray that the drama doesn't just turn up late)! We met Dr. Millotich and she found the heartbeat with the doppler...estimating it to be in the 140s. We'll go back on June 18th for the anatomy scan... :)
